BIO
Francesco Pisa
Francesco Pisa is born in Varese in 1992 and demonstrates a remarkable artistic talent from early childhood. The discovery of manga drives him to pursue drawing professionally. He graduates from the Liceo Artistico A. Frattini in 2010 and continues his studies at the Scuola di Comics in Reggio Emilia, where he graduates in 2013 with top marks (30/30). Between 2016 and 2018, he works as a graphic designer for agencies and companies in Milan, honing his visual versatility. From 2020 to 2021, he collaborates as a storyboard artist with two colleagues on the unreleased film Dwaarka (an Anglo-Indian production). In 2021, he creates the artwork and colors for the graphic novel Stable for Heavy Metal (now owned by Gungnir Books). From 2023 to 2026, he collaborates with Boom! Studios on The Expanse – Dragon Tooth and The Expanse – A Little Death. His work extends well beyond comics: Francesco creates illustrations with a versatile and constantly evolving graphic style. He also practices both traditional (clay, plastiline) and digital (ZBrush) sculpture, recently integrating this passion into his comic art through the use of Blender. An avid writer in his free time and a video game enthusiast, he deeply loves cinema and is a profound connoisseur of the medium. In short, any form of audiovisual art is a potential source of interest and inspiration for him.
